The premise sounds good on paper: a Fey lady possessing the Excalibur. However, I find the execution of the story shallow. It relies on twists and gotcha moments. I also didn’t like how the book ends. It felt like it was written as a television series and not as a book.
As a child, the stories of knights and King Arthur fascinated me. I’m comforted by the cameos of known Arthurian characters, but other than that, it’s sad to say I didn’t like this book.
On a side note, I think it’s my first time writing about a book I didn’t like. Usually, I deliberately stop reading when I don’t like a book (and I do that without regrets). Wanted to give this book a chance but… On to the next book!
